The x-axis is each team's win rate against the current top 8 of the official ladder. The y-axis is each team's win rate against the bottom 9. Wins use the site convention — (wins + 0.5 × draws) ÷ played — so a draw is half a win. Byes aren't matches and don't count.
The strong/weak split is anchored to this site's real ladder, not the official NRL one. Top 8 = positions 1-8 on the win-% ladder. Bottom 9 = positions 9-17. A top-8 team's "vs top 8" pool is naturally the other seven top-8 teams (they don't play themselves).
The dashed lines at 50% split the chart into four reads. Top-right beats everyone. Top-left is the flat-track-bully zone — beats the bottom but folds against the top. Bottom-right is the big-game specialist — knocks off the top but drops winnable games. Bottom-left is the spoon zone.
